Dearest friends, we find ourselves in a situation that most of us only a couple of weeks ago would have thought only existed in the movies. And yet, here we are now, practicing “social distancing” and washing our hands to the tune of Baby Shark in an effort to slow down the spread of the coronavirus that has taken the world by storm.
During this period, I feel it vitally important to help slow down the spread of the virus and “flatten the curve,” to reduce strain on the healthcare system.
And in order to do my part in aiding with that, and help keep everyone safe and healthy, HanDen Studios will be taking the following precautionary measures during this coronavirus epidemic:
All Events / Gatherings / Classes Cancelled Until 3/30
All events, classes, and gatherings at the studio until Monday 3/30 will be cancelled. This includes:
- 3/22 – Spinning Study Group
- 3/23 – Fiber Arts Monday
- 3/27-29 – SAORI Warping Intensive (3-Day Workshop)
I will be rescheduling the SAORI Warping Intensive for a future date.
If you have a class scheduled during this period, we will be reaching out to you to reschedule, but if you don’t hear from us or you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Future Events / Gatherings / Classes
For the time being, I have not cancelled any classes or events after March 29. Since our class sizes tend to be pretty small, and there are not usually very many people in the studio at any one time (aside from Kais or other larger gatherings), I think it is probably safe to continue with them for now. That may change as the situation evolves, but for now, we are moving ahead under the assumption that we will be open for business.
In the coming weeks, I will be closely monitoring the situation and decide whether or not to resume the regular gatherings at the studio. These include:
- Fiber Arts Mondays (Every Monday)
- Spinning Study Group (4th Sundays)
- Spinning Sundays (2nd Sundays)
As of right now, all other events listed on the Events Calendar are still happening. If a fiber festival or other event gets cancelled, I will add that to the list here, and update the event calendar listing on this website with that information.
What to Expect When You Visit the Studio
Between now and 3/30, we will be working on getting our hands on lots of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer, and we’ll be disinfecting everything in the studio.
When I do re-open the studio, I will be wiping down all door handles, looms, and any surface, tool, or object that anyone regularly touches between every customer visit, to ensure everyone’s safety.
I ask that if you are feeling ill, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, that you stay home and do not come in. If that means that you need to reschedule a class, that is 100% OK. Just contact us and let me know.
How to Stay Updated
If you’d like to receive updates about the studio, scroll down to the bottom of this page and add your name to our mailing list. I’ll be sending out periodic email updates as the situation evolves.
I will also be updating this blog post with new information as things change. And as always, you are always welcome to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Stay safe out there, everyone! We will get through this!
