What do you do if you are working on a LONG warp, and it is getting SO thick around the cloth beam that your legs won’t fit under it anymore? Well, you release some of the length and continue weaving, of course! It’s a nifty little trick. And once you learn how do that, you are half-way to weaving a mobius!

Why a Members Only Area?
During my time in Japan at SAORINOMORI, I’ve had several discussions with Akiko and Kenzo about sharing SAORI techniques over the internet. Their feeling is that the information shared via the internet needs to be done in a way that is respectful to other studios. On the one hand, the internet can be a great platform for sharing information and engaging students. But on the other hand, materials posted by one teacher can keep a student from visiting a studio close to them.
So the compromise has been to put videos and tutorials behind a password-protected wall in a “members only” section of our website. All are welcomed to join, of course! To access our video and PDF tutorials, please log in or sign up below.
Hi, Denise, remember me? I have a problem trying to Release the Excess Cloth from my SAORI Loom Cloth Bar. The problem is I have a full warp so about three tie ups are on either side of the tie up for the cloth bar, and that scrunches the warp so I can’t weave it. I figure the only way I can fix this is to tie those six tie ups on the outside of the tie up for the cloth bar. Is that right, or is there something else I can do? I tried to put a photo of it on this note, but it wouldn’t take. If I could send you a photo somewhere, that would help explain.
Hope you and yours are well.
