Blog

Welcome to the summer edition of the “monthly” email newsletter. I start with great intentions. And then the month…or 3…are gone and I have not been in contact. Apologies. That said, I have a very important question:

How the heck did it get to be July 4? Wasn’t it just yesterday that we were moving? Oh, that was five months ago! wow.

The good news is that we are fully installed in the new digs. Not fully unpacked, mind you, but fully installed. Living and working in our own little slice of paradise.

The studio is up and running and looks like it! lol I had great plans of a nice neat studio. Who was I kidding! There are projects galore in various stages of completion strewn all over the studio. AND it’s busy with students and events.

Speaking of busy, I have a NEW opportunity to tell you about and some calendar reminders for you. First up: A DAY OF WEAVING!

NEW!!! Special Day of Weaving

One of the things we have wanted to add to the calendar was an occasional full day of weaving. The idea behind it was that current Tuesday Students could get an additional day of weaving once a month or once every other month as a way to finish off projects, students who live a distance away could come for a day, and new students could check us out.

These Special Weaving Days will be offered approximately 1x every other month. Or possibly 1x/month alternating between a week day and a weekend day.

Time frame: 11 AM – 4 pm (that’s like 2 class sessions in one day! DOUBLE THE FUN!)

Cost:

  • Studio loom: $55 /person /session
  • Studio looms will be dressed with a black cotton warp. Regular Tuesday Students will have the warp they are currently using in class.
  • Personal loom: $45/person/session
  • Personal looms should be fully warped and ready to weave.

Ages: Adult

Be sure to bring a snack!

This is not a project based class. Rather, it is a studio session that is appropriate for all experience levels. Beginners will learn the basics of weaving and loom use along with some fun weft techniques. Intermediate and advanced students will continue the journey of weft techniques. As always, techniques are presented as a possibility and the weaver can choose to use them or not.

The first Special Weaving Day will be on Thursday July 20th. I am currently looking at Saturday August 26th for the second one.

Space is limited so use the form below to sign up today! Be certain to choose the appropriate response. Once you do I will send an email with directions and a square invoice. If you wish to pay in advance that would be awesome. If not we can take care of it on 7/20.

One more thing. Space truly is limited – especially if you are using a studio loom. SO if you sign up and then find you cannot attend PLEASE let me know so that your space can go to someone else.

Can’t seem to get enough of HanDen Studios? Put these dates on your calendar!
